மூங்கிலுக்கு உரித்தான அடர்ந்த வனத்தை நினைவுபடுத்தும் இயற்கை மணம். நாம் சென்ற கோவை முத்தண்ணன் குளப் பகுதியைச் சூழ்ந்து இம்மணம் நம்மை வரவேற்க, ஒரு பக்கம் மூங்கிலிலிருந்து நாரெடுப்பது, சின்னச் சின்னத் தப்பைகளாகக் கிழித்துக் கூடைகள் முடைதல், தட்டிகள், பாய்கள் செய்தல்... என ஏரியாவே கலகலத்துக் கொண்டிருந்தது. ஆனால், காய்ந்த மூங்கில்களாகக் காட்சித் தருகின்றன கோவை முத்தண்ண குளம், ஆர்.எஸ்.புரம், இரத்தின சபாபதித் தெரு, தாமஸ் வீதி, கிரிக்ரி ரோடு என்ற பகுதிகள். சுமார் 1500க்கும் அதிகமான குடும்பங்களில் கிட்டத்தட்ட ஆறாயிரத்துக்கும் மேற்பட்டோர் வாழ்கிறார்கள்.

எண்பத்தைந்து வயதான காளியப்பனிடம் பேசினோம். நான் இங்கே வாழ்ந் துட்டு இருக்கிற அஞ்சாவது தலைமுறை. இருநூறு வருஷங்களுக்கு முன்னால் மைசூரில் இருந்து இங்கு வந்து குடியேறினாங்க எங்க முன்னோர்கள். தாய்மொழி கன்னடமாக இருந்தாலும் 200 வருடப் பேச்சு, மற்ற பழக்க வழக்கங்கள், சுத்தமான கொங்கு மட்டலத்துக் காரங்களா எங்களை மாத்திடுச்சு. பத்து வார்த்தைகள் பேசினா அதுல நாலு கன்னட வார்த்தைகள் ஆறு தமிழ் வார்த்தைகள் இருக்கும். அதுவும் கொங்குத் தமிழ்" என்று பூரிக்கிறார்.

தலைவர்தான் (எம்.ஜி.ஆர். படத்தைக் காட்டுகிறார்) எங்களை வாழ வெச்ச தெய்வம். இப்போ ‘அம்மா’. அம்மா முதல் முதல்ல ஆட்சியில அமர்ந்தப்ப எங்களுக்கு இலவசமாக இப்ப இருக்கற வீடுகளைக் கட்டிக் கொடுத்து, கூட்டுறவு சங்கம் அமைச்சுக் கொடுத்தாங்க. அதற்கு முன்னாடி வரைக்கும் மண் சுவரும், ஓலைக் குடிசைகளிலும்தான் எங்க வாழ்க்கை! இப்ப எங்களுக்கு ரேஷன் கார்டு, கார்ப்பரேஷன் தண்ணின்னு எல்லாம் இருக்கு. புள்ளைங்க படிக்க பக்கத்திலேயே மாநகராட்சிப் பள்ளிகள் எல்லாம் இருக்கு. ஆனால் தொழில் தான் இல்லை சுபிட்சமா" என்ற வரை இடைமறித்து ஐம்பது வயதான முருகேசன் தொடர்ந்தார்.

ஒரு காலத்தில் கோயமுத்தூரைச் சுற்றிலும் இருக்கிற கிராமத்து விவசாயிகளுக்கெல்லாம் தண்ணி இறைக்க கிணத்து மக்கிரி, நாத்துக்கூடை, மக்கிரி முறங்கள், தானியங்கள் சேமிக்க குதிரு, சாடு, செடிக் கூடை, பஞ்சாரம் தட்டிகள், வீட்டு விசேஷங்களுக்கு பொட்டிக் கூடை, சீர்ப்பேழை, போனை மூடி, தட்டிகள், பாய்கள்... என செஞ்சு மாளாதுங்க. இப்ப எல்லாம் எங்கும் எதிலும் பிளாஸ்டிக் வந்துடுச்சு. கூடவே பஞ்சாலைகள் எல்லாத்தையும் இழுத்து மூடின உடன் ஆயிரக்கணக்கில் வருமானம் தந்த பஞ்சுக் கூடைகள் உற்பத்தியும் நின்னு போச்சு. இதெல்லாம் எங்க வாழ்க்கையைத் தலைகீழா புரட்டிப் போட்டுடுச்சு. ஒரு கூடை வித்தால் இரண்டு ரூபாய் கிடைப்பதே அதிகம். மூங்கில்கள் வெட்டறப்பவும், கிழிக்கறப்பவும் அடிக்கடி ஏற்படற ரணங்களின் வலியைவிட, எங்கள் தலைமுறை தலைமுறையான வாழ்வாதாரம் திசைமாறிப் போனதுதான் அதிகமா வலிக்குது" என்கிறார் பெருமூச்சுடன்.

எங்களைச் சேர்ந்தவங்க கிட்டயே நாங்க தினக்கூலிகளா வேலை செய்றோம். இந்தக் கூட்டுறவு சொஸைட்டி ரொம்ப காலமாய்ப் பூட்டிக் கிடக்குது. எங்க பேப்பர்கள் எல்லாம் இன்னும் இதுலதான் இருக்கு. இதைத் திறந்து எங்கள் தொழிலுக்குக் கடனுதவி செஞ்சு அரசாங்கமே பொருள்களை விற்க ஏற்பாடு செய்தால் பிழைச்சுக்குவோம்" என்றார் மூடப்பட்ட சொஸைட்டி கதவுகளை ஏக்கத்துடன் பார்த்துக்கொண்டே.

தங்கமணி, புஷ்பா, ஜோதிமணி, ராஜேஸ்வரின்னு ஏகப்பட்ட பெண்கள் நம்மைச் சூழ்ந்து கொண்டார்கள்.

எங்க ஆம்பிள்ளைங்க நெலமையே இப்படின்னா எங்களைப் பத்திச் சொல்லவே வேண்டாம். வீட்டு வேலைகளுக்குக்கூட எங்களை உள்ளே விடமாட்டறாங்க. ஏதோ ‘அம்மா’ மனசு வெச்சா எங்களுக்குக் கைவினைப் பொருள்கள் செய்யத் தொழிற் பயிற்சியும் பேங்க் லோனும் கொடுத்தா முன்னேறிக்குவோம்" என்று நம்பிக்கையுடன் பேசுகின்றனர்!

குடும்பச் சுமைகளுக்குத் தோள் கொடுக்க வழி தேடும் அந்தப் பெண்கள் ஆதங்கம், ‘கடவுள்தான் வழி காட்ட வேண்டும்’ என்ற முணுமுணுப்பாக மாறுகிறது.

எங்க பசங்களுக்குக் கூடை முடையற தொழிலே என்னன்னு தெரியாது. யாரும் இதைக் கத்துக்க முன்வரல. ஏதோ கொஞ்சம் படிக்கிறாங்க. கொஞ்சம் வளர்ந்த உடனே சாரம் கட்டறது, பெயின்டிங், ஒர்க்ஷாப், கரண்ட் வேலைன்னு போயிறடாங்க. எங்களுக்கு அப்புறம் இந்தத் தொழிலை யாரும் கண்டுக்கப் போறதில்லை. இது எவ்வளவு வேதனை தெரியுமா?

இப்போதைக்கு அதிகமாப் போற பொருள்கள்னு பார்த்தீங்கன்னா, பழம், காய்கறிகள் அடைத்து அனுப்பும் கூடைகள் தான். பிளாஸ்டிக்கில் பார்சல் செய்தால் வெம்பிப் போகும். இந்தக் கூடைகள் என்றால் குளிர்ச்சியாவே பல நாட்களுக்குத் தாங்கும். ஊட்டி, ஈரோடு, சென்னை இங்கெல்லாம் இந்தக் கூடைகளை அதிகமாவே வாங்கிட்டுப் போறாங்க. ஆனா, அடிமாட்டு விலைக்குக் கேட்பாங்க. அப்புறம் கான்கிரீட் தட்டிகள், ஸ்கிரீன் தட்டிகள் என ரெகுலரான ஆர்டர்கள் கிடைக்கும். எங்கள் தயாரிப்பில் வீட்டு உபயோகப் பொருள்களுக்குச் சுத்தமாவே அடிதான்" என்கிறார்கள் அன்புவும், சந்திரனும்.

ஹிந்துஸ்தான் கல்லூரியில் BBM படிக்கும் மாணவன் அசோக்குமாரிடம் பேசினோம். நான் நிறையப் படிச்சு பெரிய வேலைக்கு வரணும். அரசாங்கத்தை அணுகி என் பகுதி இளைஞர்களுக்கும் மற்றவர்களுக்கும் தகுதியான உதவிகளைப் பெற்றுத் தரணும். படிப்பின் அவசியத்தை வற்புறுத்தி நிறையப் பேரை படிக்க வைக்கணும். இதுதான் என் இலட்சியம்" என்றார்.

இந்தப் பகுதியில் ஆட்டோ ஓட்டி சம்பாதிக்கும் செல்வராஜ், என் அப்பா, அம்மாவே இந்தத் தொழில் உனக்கு வேண்டாம்; வேற எதையாவது செஞ்சு பொழச்சுக்கோன்னு சொன்னாங்க. நான் ஆட்டோ ஓட்டறேன். என் தம்பி டாக்ஸி ஓட்டறான். இங்கிருக்கிற இளைய தலைமுறைகள் இப்ப வேலைக்குப் போறதைத்தான் விரும்பறாங்க" என்று பக்கத்தில் நின்று கொண்டிருந்த இளைஞர் கூட்டத்தைக் காட்டினார். அவர்களை அணுகினோம்.

ஏன் நீங்க உங்க தாத்தா, அப்பா செய்யற வேலை செய்தால் என்ன" என்று கேட்டால், அவங்களைவிட நாங்க நல்லாவே சம்பாதிக்கிறோம். இன்னைக்கு யாராவது வருவாங்களா? பொருள்களை வாங்குவாங்களான்னு ஏக்கத்துடன் அவங்க காத்திட்டு இருக்காங்க. ஆனா, எங்க நிலைமை அப்படி இல்லை. வேலைக்கு ஆள் வர மாட்டாங்களான்னு தேடிட்டு இருக்கற கம்பெனிகளில் கடுமையா உழைச்சுச் சம்பாதிக்கிறோம். செய்யற தொழிலை நல்லாக் கத்துக்கறோம். சொல்ல முடியாது நாங்களே எதிர்காலத்தில் சொந்தமாகத் தொழில் செஞ்சு குடும்பத்தைக் காப்பாத்துவோம்," என்கின்றனர்.

அருகே இருக்கிற கோயிலைக் காட்டி இது உங்களுக்குச் சொந்தமான கோயிலா என்று கேட்டதுதான் தாமதம், ஆரம்பத்தில் நம்மிடம் பேசிய காளியப்பன் உற்சாக மானார். எங்க முன்னோர்கள் 200 வருஷங்களுக்கு முன்னாடி மைசூரை விட்டுக் கிளம்பறப்போ இந்த அம்மனும் எங்களுக்குக் காவலாய் புறப்பட்டு வந்துடுச்சு. இங்கேயே இருந்து எங்களைக் காத்து அருள் பாலிக்கறாள். இவள் அனுமதி இல்லாமா இங்க எதுவும் நடக்காது. அம்மன் இங்க வந்து ஐக்கியமானது தை மாதமாம். அதனால் ஒவ்வொரு தை மாதமும் ஒரு வாரம் இந்த அம்மனுக்கு பொங்கலும், கிடா வெட்டும் எங்க ஜனங்க ஒண்ணாச் சேர்ந்து பெரிய திருவிழாவாகக் கொண்டாடுவோம்" என்கிறார்.

மேட்டுப்பாளையம், ஊட்டி, பொள்ளாச்சி, உடுமலைன்னு பரவி இருக்கிற எங்க சொந்தங்கள் எல்லாம் ஜேஜேன்னு வந்துடுவாங்க. பல திருமணங்கள் அப்போ நிச்சயமாகும். சொந்தங்களில் மட்டும்தான் திருமணம் என்பது காலம் காலமாக நாங்கள் செய்து வருகிறோம். மாப்பிள்ளை அழைப்பு ரொம்பவும் விசேசம். மற்றபடி சாதாரண முறையில்தான் திருமணங்கள். வரதட்சணை அது இதுன்னு எந்தப் பிரச்னையும் இல்லை" என்கிறார்.

அழகான கூடைகளை கலைநயத்தோடு முடையும் இவர்களது வாழ்வை காலம்தான் கன்னாபின்னாவென்று முடைந்து விட்டது. அவர்களிடமிருந்து நாம் விடைபெறும் போது ஒரு பெரியவர் சொன்னார், ‘கூட்டுறவு சொஸைட்டியைத் திறக்கறது போல எழுதுங்க. அதுதான் எங்களுக்கு நீங்க செய்யற உதவி’ என்றார்.

Living in past glory

Muktha V. Srinivasan, the producer of Nayakan, responds to Kamal Haasan’s article ‘Of course, Velu Nayakan doesn’t dance’ (Magazine, October 21).

Initially I wanted to make a movie inspired by the story of The Godfather. I had narrated the story to my friend Sivaji Ganesan, who agreed to act in the film. I also requested Kamal Haasan and Amala to act in this movie. 

I paid an advance and confirmed their dates. This was reported in the press. However Ananthu, then an associate of Kamal Haasan, felt that it would be a Sivaji- focused film and not a Kamal Haasan movie. The project was dropped. Kamal later told me about Mani Ratnam. Mani narrated a story based on the life of a don from Bombay.

 He also had written the screenplay, which was very good. The scenes and dialogues were realistic and I liked it. Mani told us that he would complete the shooting in 60 days and he would need 70 rolls of film. The salary for Kamal Haasan was Rs. 17, 50,000. And the budget for the film was estimated at Rs. 60 lakh. Yes, it was a big budget. However it became “over-budget”, with expenses crossing Rs. 1 crore – almost twice the original estimate. 

Shooting commenced in November 1986 and the first schedule lasted 10 days. All the scenes that were shot were scrapped since Kamal Haasan did not like them. The screenplay had to be rewritten. Shooting was postponed. The new screenplay had lot of violence and I was shocked as it was a copy of The Godfather and Once Upon a Time in America. 

 I told Mani that a good writer and director should get inspiration from life, and not copy from other films. I objected to the story as it would not attract a family audience. So I created a heroine character (the wife of Kamal Haasan) and introduced Saranya. Had Mani not listened to Kamal and gone with the original script, it would have been an outstanding movie.

Kamal Haasan wanted the film to be shot at Dharavi in Bombay, which was the largest and most congested slum in Asia. I did not want to shoot the entire movie in Bombay – but not because I was “tightfisted,” as Kamal claims. I was always interested in shooting in different locations. 

Though it was not very easy to shoot outside studios, those days, I had shot in Kashmir, Nepal, Shimla and the Andamans. But when I visited Dharavi, I found that it was not possible to shoot there, since it was thickly populated. Also, I was concerned about the security of the crew. 

Using photographs of the slum, art director Thota Tharani created the set at Venus studios, Chennai, which turned out three times more expensive than it would have been had we shot at Dharavi. We had to hire thousands of junior artists to create that atmosphere. The remaining portion was shot at Bombay.

The movie was completed and released in October 1987. After 25 years Kamal Haasan has suddenly chosen to talk about it, distorting the facts for reasons best known to him, and undermining the contributions made by everyone.

When Mani Ratnam narrated the story, he told me that he wanted to make a realistic film with real characters, which meant no makeup and the use of Tamil attire like the dhoti and lungi. He was not interested in bringing in either a Hollywood stuntman or a makeup man. I felt that Velu Naicker did not need a “Hollywood” makeup man and costumer. In fact it was Kamal Haasan’s idea to bring such people in. Our company had a makeup man and costumers who were all paid by me. To state that there was no budget for makeup and costumes is absurd. 

As far as using international artist Jim Allen, he was charging a huge amount (almost Rs. 2,00,000 per day), that too in dollars, which was not feasible in those days. I could not concede to this request, since it meant engaging in illegal and unethical hawala transactions. Moreover, the stunts that Mr. Allen suggested were already in vogue.

 Mani would have come up with a better scene had Kamal not insisted on copying from The Godfather. All the props which were used in the movie were paid for by me. As far as ittar is concerned, Kamal Haasan never asked me for it. Had I known, I would have bought it myself, since it is available even in Pondy bazaar.

Before going into a shooting schedule, I had always ensured that the all the film rolls needed for the schedule were made available so that the shooting could go on without interruption. Mani asked for 15 rolls of film for 10 days of shooting. On the evening of the seventh day, Mani’s assistant director Govindarajan asked for an extra roll, since they had exposed all the 15 rolls. Since the Kodak company opened only in the morning, Kamal Haasan gave the film rolls that he had purchased for his earlier movie. I paid him for these rolls. However, P.C. Sreeram did not use it, as it was old stock.

After the completion of shooting Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam had a press meet, where they made a statement that the movie was based on Varadaraja Mudaliar’s life. After this, the censor board at Chennai refused to permit the release of the movie, since it was based on a living person.

 I appealed to the revising committee at Bombay. They said that they would permit us to release the film if I got a letter stating that it was not based on Varadaraja Mudaliar’s life. I asked Kamal Haasan to help me. He simply refused, stating that he was busy shooting another movie. Hence, with great difficulty, I contacted Mathiolli Shanmugam, a writer and good friend of mine, and through him met Varadaraja Mudaliar, who gave us a letter. Only then did the Censor appellate board at Bombay permit us to release the film. To call the movie his “baby” and not be bothered about its release is a reflection on Kamal Haasan’s ‘sincerity’.

A good artist is one who gets inspired from a movie. The scene where Kamal Haasan cries on seeing the dead body of his son is copied from The Godfather, and he imitates Marlon Brando. This scene was booed by the audience, because it never fit the character and lacked nativity.

 When the film was completed and the first print was shown to me, the film ran for 3 hours. Both Kamal and Mani wanted me to release the film as it was, whereas I knew that the audience would never sit through the movie. I told the editor Lenin to edit several unnecessary scenes. This gave life to the movie, along with the theme music Thenpandi seemayilae. Had it not been for Ilayaraja and Lenin, the movie would have flopped.

Hi-speed negative film was introduced in India in 1985-86, and all cinematographers began to shoot in low light. Even our movie Kodai Mazhai, which came out before Nayakan, was shot in low light. When we screened the movie in theatres, the projector operators expressed reservations since they had to use extra carbon, which was very expensive. 

That was the reason I expressed my apprehension. I consulted colourist Narayanan of Gemini Lab who assured me that he would increase the brightness while printing and we had no problem while screening the film in theatres. They are the unsung heroes who were part of the success story.

To generate and invest Rs. 1 crore in a Tamil movie in 1986 and market and release it without any problem was a huge task. As a senior producer, I was always interested in seeing that the distributors who bought the movie made profits. Making a movie is a team effort. The producer takes the entire risk and his contribution cannot be undermined. 

G. Venkateswaran bought negative rights only after I sold all the areas. But he insisted that he would put his name as producer and receive the awards the movie got. I had to agree since I had suffered a loss even after selling all the areas. But the greatest loss was when my brother died and after that I chose not to talk about the movie. I do not know why Kamal Haasan has chosen to talk about the film now. Calling a filmmaker as “old school” is, I think, outdated.

I have always considered film as an art. I have been a producer and director for more than 60 years. Without passion for cinema, I could not have made more than 40 films with great stars like Sivaji Ganesan, Gemini Ganesan, Rajinikanth and Jayalalithaa. I have a reputation for producing good movies and believe that audience deserves quality films. But it is difficult to conceive, produce and release big budget movies. 

Shooting small budget films with Digital Cameras is easy. Filmmaking is also a business and everybody works to make money. Kamal Haasan did not act in my movie for free. He was paid a huge sum, amounting to almost 20 per cent of the original budget. Expecting Rs. 5 lakh as profit is not avaricious. Nayakan was purely a commercial film, and even Kamal Haasan knew this. The tragedy is that I did not make any profit.

Had Kamal Haasan allowed Mani to make the movie originally conceived by him, it would have been his best movie. As for the reference to Mani Ratnam’s deteriorating health, he was very healthy when he completed Nayakan. It was only when he became a producer that his health started deteriorating, which is not unusual.

I have nothing against Kamal Haasan taking credit for the success of Nayakan. But not at my cost, please.

கடந்த சட்டசபை தேர்தலில், அ.தி.மு.க., வுடன் கூட்டணி அமைத்து போட்டியிட்ட, தே.மு.தி.க., 29 தொகுதிகளில் வெற்றி பெற்று, எதிர்க்கட்சி அந்தஸ்தை பெற்றது. கடந்த உள்ளாட்சி தேர்தலில், மார்க்சிஸ்ட் கம்யூனிஸ்ட் கட்சியுடன் கூட்டணி அமைத்து, தே.மு.தி.க., போட்டியிட்டது. எதிர்பார்த்த வெற்றி, அக்கூட்டணிக்கு கிடைக்கவில்லை. தொடர்ந்து நடந்த, சங்கரன்கோவில், புதுக்கோட்டை இடைத்தேர்தலில் போட்டியிட்ட தே.மு.தி.க., தோல்வி அடைந்தது. இதன் தொடர்ச்சியாக, மாவட்டவாரியாக நடந்த நலத்திட்டங்கள் வழங்கும் விழாக்களில், விஜயகாந்தும், அவரது மனைவி பிரேமலதாவும், ஆளுங்கட்சியை கடுமையாக விமர்சித்தனர்.

6.Don’t respond to inappropriate messages or emails.

பெண்ணியம் எவ்வளவு முக்கியமோ அதைவிட முக்கியமான ஒன்று ஒடுக்கப்பட்டோருக்கான உரிமையும், சாதியத்தையும் களைவதும். ஆதிக்க சாதி பெண்களின் பெண்ணியத்தை காப்பாற்றுவதற்கு எங்களுக்கு இப்போது நேரமில்லை. பரமக்குடி படுகொலை, கூடங்குளம், மீனவர் பிரச்னை இப்படி நீளும் பட்டியலில் அரசின் அடக்கு முறைகளுக்கு எதிராக போராடுவதே எங்களுக்கு முதல் வேலை. இந்த போராட்டங்களிலெல்லாம் பெண்கள் பெருமளவு பங்கெடுத்துச் செயல்பட்டுக்கொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள். அந்தப் பெண்கள்தான் உண்மையான பெண்ணியத்தின் அடையாளம். ஆதிக்க சாதியைச் சேர்ந்த பெண் ஒடுக்கப்பட்டோருக்கான உரிமையை கருத்து என்ற பெயரில் பறிக்க நினைக்கும் போது அதை just like that கடந்து செல்ல வேண்டும்...அப்படிபட்ட பெண்களின் பெண்ணியத்தை நிச்சயமாக எங்களால் காப்பாற்ற முடியாது.

Dearest Chinmayi,

            Let me introduce myself first... I am a Doctor working in UK currently, mother of a 10 year old boy, daughter of a widowed mom and belong to scheduled caste. Life has never been fair but I am handling it the best I can, in raising my kid. I have been a fan of your talents for ages. I think I followed you since you participated in the talent show in Sun TV. I have the utmost respect for you and your mom & I have enjoyed all your songs, your performances, your blog, articles about you as an young entrepreneur, and of course the infamous twitter....

            I am one among the many, who came to twitter to meet people with like mind & sharp tongue & to hear the thought that reverberates from civilians with great creative minds belonging to different walks of life. I was thrilled and got sucked into it. It opened up multiple windows into people’s world. I have met great people, not so great people in this journey and I have made really good friends. We do have our difference of opinions but Twitter felt like college. You fight, you make up, you are pulled down, you laugh, you are surprised and you are ragged so on and so forth.

            In the past one year, your conversations have stirred so much of conflict, which rather reflects your basic understanding of life and your opinion about the political problems that we face. End of the day, everyone is entitled to make and have their own opinions. As far as one’s opinion and expression is not vindictive and abrasive, one can get away with everything...

            And now your name is all over the media for the past couple of weeks which has plastered & portrayed that Chinmayi is a poor victim of sexual harassment from these social sites and she is been showered with verbal abuse, derogatory comments and that your life has been endangered. For people who are not acquainted to the social media like twitter and face book, they would be just flabbergasted with these news. Since there are a few who have followed all the conversations that has flown back and forth between you and the rest of the others, you cannot really stand up and say that you are just a victim here!!! So, Please sell your story elsewhere!!!

            Are you really just a victim??? Where have your tweets disappeared? All the way through, you have said inappropriate retorts against the fisherman, people belonging to my caste but you have weaselled out big style and just deleted your tweets!!! But girl, if you are so filled with righteousness, why this conniving scheme??? You have retorted for every single tweet that came your way!! I was kinda proud of you, as you at least had the guts to stand up to what you thought was right!! But I don’t know why you had to go and delete every single one of your tweets that caused such angst and belligerence amongst people. Is it because people would get the real true picture of what actually happened, if you had had left your tweets??

            Being a woman, we are under constant scrutiny all through our life. And being in a massive field like movie industry, which is constantly under public surveillance, does put people like you under constant pressure. I totally get that and I appreciate your effort. I know that you are not answerable to me, but to a society which you are feeding false information to. NOT everything you have told them is true now, is it??

            I have known the twitter handles you have quoted to the police for the past 3 years now. Neither me nor the other so many woman who are on twitter, have had any trouble with the guys you have quoted. There have been plenty of arguments, which are meant arise when there is difference of opinions. But nothing crass, nothing boorish from anyone of these men. And top of that, you probably have the most people in the ignore list in twitter anyways and probably more ignored compared to your followers.

            I have personally known @rajanleaks for the past 2 years and he is a really sharp witted humble person, a responsible adult, a loving husband & very devoted father of baby girl, who has risen to this position through sheer hard work and no family to support him. He has fought all through his life and all he had to share to this world was his quirky sense of humour. I can vouch for him and so can many other friends (which include woman, FYI)!!! I have similar stance on all the twitter handles like @senthlchn @vivaji and many others you have shared as well. All these people are simple civilians!!!

The only reason your paths collided was your insensitive tweets regarding Tamilnadu fishermen who were killed right left and central for no fault of theirs and similar such retorts about other issues related to caste etc. Probably your tweet meant that way, because you didn’t quite understand the gravity of the situation. I don’t blame you, because this is beyond you and not every civilian is been informed about this injustice. For some reason, our so called sincere ingenuous media have never really brought forward these sensitive issues to eyes of our society and they just make sure that all their heads are filled with junk news and incorrigible soaps.

             Now, You and everyone in twitter know that this conflict happened a year ago. You have a better social stance and financial stature than all these people put together. If this issue has really put you through so much of misery, Why act now?? Why didn’t you bring this forward when it was all fresh and hot? What is the ulterior motive behind this?? You have used angry, hostile remarks against all these people; there has been threatening phone calls from your side to these people. Yet you are the victim here.... It doesn’t tally at all. You said something and they said something and you said something back and it went on and ended by itself... Why stir the commotion now???

            I am not trying to take sides here. You were made fun of, I agree. They created a tag to rag you. But girl, these are the very same people, who sang #oppari for one other. They are the first to make fun of one other. That is the whole nature & essence of the twitter. If you think that you were beyond this, you just ignore them as you already did and get on with your life. But suddenly posing you as the sole sufferer after over a year and putting all these people’s very livelihood in jeopardy, sounds very vindictive and cheap, below the belt act for anyone.

            So let’s rewind!!! You have had stress from such remarks by these guys, so you decided to wipe out their reputations and jobs and social stance... Your stress = their lives. Don’t you think you have blown it out of proportion? Oh is it because, you can!!! Is that why? You have the back up to support you and whatever you say become the truth. SO this makes me think that this whole complaint has been well planned and presented to take these men down.

 If it is really about seeking justice, if that is the case, what about all the insensitive crude remarks you have made about these issues and the people who rambled to you because they cared about the very same. So this just brings us back to the era, where you can say whatever you want and get away with it but just want to keep the other side repressed. How is this justice, in any standard???

            If I were in your position, I would have tried better to understand in depth, what I am giving my comments and opinions about before making my point. Better yet, not comment about things that are out of one’s depth, prior to stirring events like this. I hope you have the soul satisfaction of destroying few people who dared to ask you back about the right questions. Remember, Their slangs and the way they formulated the questions & remarks would have been offish for your standard, but the questions were truthful. Hope you can look back into what you said and reflect upon yourself. Oh wait a minute!!! You cannot reflect upon what you have said coz you haven’t left your so called tweets on there!!! You clever girl!!!

             Anyhow, Hope you can sleep finally now that you have brought justice to the world because all the crude buggers are beyond the bars, lost their jobs, reputations and their families will ever suffer for their bread & butter and not to mention been tainted forever for a silly thing like standing up to what they really believed in something true and respectful. You can go ahead with your perfect life and your double standards... Wishing you all the very best!!!
