Logan - FILM REVIEW

Logan review:

We knew this is the last time we would see Hugh Jackman as 'Wolverine' in the X-Men instalment.  Set in the year 2029, we are introduced to a fading 'Logan', who's weary and loses his mutant powers over the years.  I wonder if DC would portray a fading birdman oops batman in a similar tone.  We are shown an aging professor Xavier, played by Patrick Stewart. Damn I miss James Mcavoy.

We are introduced to a girl child mutant 'Laura' from X-23, who possess the DNA of Wolverine. Logan is approached to safeguard Laura and enable her  to reach a safehouse 'Eden'. Now, there is a reference of an X-men comic in the movie, which was fabulous.

We all know this is the last instalment of the wolverine/logan character, and the end is inevitable, but I would not buy the killing of a mutant. Marvel is producing X-23, without a wolverine, now that would be tricky.

Up's:
·         Marvel are always good, when it comes to live action, this one does not disappoint as well. Great CG, accompanied by good story telling.

·         Hugh jackman played the fading Logan to perfection,  making us want for a further instalment , which we would not get.

·         This instalment was high on the emotion quotient, which we don't usually see in  an X men series.

·         The fight sequences were choreographed with less CG.

Down's:
·         This is the most violent film in the x men series, for a moment I thought I was watching 'Texas chainsaw massacre'

·         I was so used to seeing Jamed Mcavoy as professor xavier, the aged xavier did not kick in.

Baring the few violent scenes, Logan is one of the best films in the X-men series, I would still rate X-men Days of future past as the best. Go watch it for Wolverine's final act.

Rating 3.75/5.
